The schedule shows your projected labor cost as you build it, so you can keep labor on target before the week starts.
Build the week
- Go to People → Schedule.
- Pick a brand at the top.
- Use ‹ and › to move between weeks, or click This week.
- Click + Add shift. Choose the person, the day and the hours.
- Keep adding shifts. Click a shift to change it.
At the top, you'll see Scheduled hours, Projected labor, Labor % of sales and Expected sales. These update as you add shifts. Expected sales are based on your sales history.
The grid also shows who has approved time off or has said they can't work, and warns you about anyone over 40 hours in the week or booked for two shifts at once.
Start from last week or a template
- Click Copy last week to copy last week's shifts onto this week as drafts. Nothing is published or sent until you publish.
- Click Week templates to save a good week once, then drop it onto any week as drafts with Use for this week.
If you schedule in Square, your shifts can come in from Square. Manage those shifts in Square, and they sync back here.
Publish the schedule
When the week looks right, click Publish week. You'll see who will be told before it goes out. Your team gets a notice that their schedule is ready.
Time off, swaps and the time clock
Use the buttons above the grid for Time off & availability, Swaps & drops and the Time clock. See Time clock, time off and shift swaps.
Set a labor target
- Go to People → Labor.
- Pick a brand.
- Type your goal in Target labor %.
- Click Save target.
Days over your target are flagged. You'll also see your Avg labor %, Labor cost, Labor hours, Days over target and Sales per labor $.
The Labor page also shows scheduled against actual hours and cost for each day, how many people were on the clock each hour next to sales by hour, and hours per person with overtime. Pay is only shown to owners and managers.
Get alerts
To hear about it when yesterday ran over your labor target, turn on Labor over target in Settings → Alerts & Reviews → Alerts. See Set up alerts and reports.
Handle staff requests
Other team requests, like suggestions, land in People → Requests. Click Review, then Mark done when you've handled one.
