The Competitors page keeps the places competing for your guests in one list, with their ratings, review counts, prices and what they're known for.
Find nearby competitors
- Go to Home → Insights → Competitors.
- Click Find nearby competitors.
- Pick your brand and a Radius, from half a mile to 10 miles.
- Choose the kinds of business to look for. It starts with your own category. Click Add another kind of business to widen the search.
- Tick the results you want to track. Each shows its Distance, Rating, Reviews and Price. Places you already track say Already tracked.
- Import them.
Each search returns up to 20 places. You can run a few searches an hour.
If you see Needs a Google Places key, nearby search isn't switched on for Ospelia yet. You can still add competitors by hand.
Add a competitor by hand
Click + Add competitor. Add the name, type, distance, price level, rating and review count, plus what they're known for, their strengths and weaknesses, and price notes.
Keep an eye on them
- Mark each competitor's threat as high, medium or low so the ones worth watching stay on top.
- Ratings are kept over time, so you can see who is gaining.
- Reviews → Insights shows you next to nearby competitors, and custom reports can include a Competitors section. See Build a custom report with AI notes.
Good to know
Nearby search uses Google's places data. It only looks up businesses, not people.
